5/30/2023 0 Comments Impulse hopkins![]() ![]() All three novels contain heavy foreshadowing, but each has its own specific rhetorical technique that makes it stand out. Ellen Hopkins utilizes this stylistic technique to bring to surface the dramatic conflicts, evocative thoughts, and deeper meanings of her works. Rhetorical techniques are used to create literary effect, often without regard to literal meaning. Hopkins employs a vast array of techniques to convey a connected theme in her novels Impulse, Burned, and Identical that in a harsh and unloving environment emerge those bold enough to survive in a harsh and unloving world. The setting, conflict, characterization, and motif of each story allow the reader to delve deeper into each work’s meaning, but this would not be possible without the use of various rhetorical techniques and structural diction. Award winning author Ellen Hopkins spins a sticky web of tragedy, comedy, and shock with each page-turner she writes. Narrative and stylistic techniques are the marrow of any well written piece of literature, the spine of a work’s essence. ![]() 5/30/2023 0 Comments Halfway Dead by Terry Maggert![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now he's racing along the neon-lit streets on a search-and-destroy mission, looking for the shadowy virtual villain threatening to bring about Infocalypse.
